Roundup Lawsuit Filed In Australia

Continuing with it’s wave of international lawsuits, Bayer AG’s herbicide product Roundup is at the center of a lawsuit filed by a man in Australia

Roundup Lawsuit Down Under

The plaintiff is a gardener, Michael Ogalirolo, according to an article by Reuters. The suit was filed on Monday in Victoria, Australia. Mr. Ogalirolo claims his long term use and exposure to Roundup was a major factor in his diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Bayer AG’s Legal Woes Go Global

This is not the first time Bayer AG (parent company of Monsanto who developed Roundup) has had to deal with lawsuits outside the US. Recently, a lawsuit was filed in Quebec, Canada by a woman who has also claimed Roundup played a role in her cancer diagnosis.

Roundup Cancer Risk

Roundup has been a source of controversy for shareholders of Bayer AG after the company bought out Monsanto last summer. The shareholders claim the company did not look at the potential legal risks involving Roundup before making the purchase.
