J&J Troubles Continue after FDA Testing

[:en]The ripple effect continues for Johnson & Johnson as pharmacy chains CVS, Walmart, and Rite Aid are taking Johnson & Johnson baby powder off the shelves CBS News reports.

FDA Testing

The move comes after the FDA found trace amounts of asbestos in a bottle of the powder that was purchased online. This setback is one of the latest that Johnson & Johnson has faced over their baby powder. Numerous legal claims are making their way through the courts against the company, with individuals arguing that J&J knew their talc contained asbestos, which can cause serious medical issues such as ovarian cancer, but continued to push the product to consumers anyway.

J&J on Defense

Johnson & Johnson issued a voluntary recall after the FDA results came out. The company continues to insist that its talc products are safe, and claim that their own independent testing of their product shows proof that their talc does not contain asbestos.
