Plaintiff’s Win $40 Million Verdict In Latest J&J Baby Powder Case

Johnson & Johnson have been hit with another loss in the latest talc trial case that took place in California. The jury found the company’s talc to be responsible for causing a woman’s mesothelioma diagnosis. The verdict was for $40 million dollars in damages according to a press release about the verdict from PR Newswire

Contaminants found in Baby Powder

According to evidence, medical testing done on the plaintiff,  Nancy Cabibi showed that she has the presence of two types of asbestos. Both types were found to be in Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower to Shower products, that Ms. Cabibi has used. 

A String of Trial Losses

Johnson & Johnson has been at the center of legal defeats over their talc products in recent months. In New Jersey, plaintiffs were awarded a verdict of $37 million dollars, and another $29 million dollars also out of California.
