A bus crash on I-25 near Walsenburg, Colorado on Thursday, November 28, 2019, left multiple people with serious injuries according to KFox 14 News.
Dangerous Conditions a Factor in Bus Crash
The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. and according to the article, the accident occurred while the interstate was experiencing icy and slick conditions. The driver of the bus at the time of the crash, Alberto Torres, was ticketed by the police for careless driving causing bodily injury after he lost control of the vehicle which slid off the road as a result.
49 people including Mr. Torres were involved in the accident, with at least 6 people suffering critical injuries. The crash involves an El Paso-based autobus company, Los Paisanos, which is where the bus began its journey with its intended destination being Denver, Colorado.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Los Paisanos has had a serious bus crash. According to the article, most recently in 2008, the company had an incident involving a flipped vehicle that cost the lives of two individuals and injured many others.
Colorado State Police (CSP) has launched an investigation into the crash that is still ongoing at this time.
