Yes. U.S. Senator Patty Murray from Washington State submitted her own request to the company to provide documents over claims of asbestos in their talcum powder products which includes their baby powder.
Has Johnson & Johnson issued a response to the subpoena?
Not yet. The company continues to stand by the safety of its products, even going so far as to launch an online ad campaign (read more about that here). The company has found itself hit with a multitude of lawsuits over claims that their baby powder causes mesothelioma and ovarian cancer in women (read about the most recent trial here).
